Arizona Nanotechnology Cluster

This page will be updated for Spring 2016 later

The Arizona Nanotechnology Cluster is a not for profit organization that (amongst other activities) runs monthly evening meetings in the Brickyard on Mill. All our PSM students, Alumni and Faculty (and of course other interested parties) are welcome to attend. The Chair is Dr Matt Kim, CEO of QuantTera, Arizona Nanotechnology Cluster, 15560 N. Frank Lloyd Wright Bd, suite B4-405, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.

These meetings often feature ASU Faculty, as on August 23rd, 2012 when the speaker was Dr Shelley E. Haydel of the ASU School of Life Sciences. She is a Researcher in the Center for Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology at the Biodesign Institute, and the topic was "Characterizing and creating antibacterial clay minerals". PSM Advisory Board member Dr Nick Rizzo of Everspin, gave a talk on "Toggle and Torque: MRAM production and development at Everspin Technologies" on January 24th, 2013. The Abstract of these talk and speaker Biographies are attached.

But of course the group also hosts Industrialists, and has a speciality of discussing Innovations at an early stage of development. For example, on November 13, 2013, Jon McGarity talked about his latest startup venture NeuroEM Therapeutics, and new techniques to treat Alzheimers Disease.

Note we have a new room where we will hold our meetings.  The meeting will be held at Artisan Court, room 190 on the east side of Mill between 6th and 7th street, in Tempe from 5:30-7:30 pm, with networking from 5:30-6:00 p.m. and the talk beginning at about 6:00 p.m., with dinner following with the speaker, everyone is welcomed. Artisan Court is located directly east of the Brickyard. A map is at the link: http://www.asu.edu/tour/tempe/byac.html

Visitor parking is on 7th St., east of Mill. Underground parking is across from Myrtle St., on the north side of 7th St. Please get there before 6pm because the elevators become locked down after that time. If you do come after that time call Matt’s cell 602-214-3524 for admission.

If you want, you can inform Matt Kim or the secretary, Cindy Pillotte (an IP lawyer in Phoenix), and then you will be on the list yourself. It is a good place to meet with colleagues across the University-Industry divide. The Cluster web site is at http://www.aznano.org/
